YOU'RE RIGHTEOUS

For just as by one man's disobedience (failing to hear, heedlessness, and carelessness) the many were constituted sinners, so by one Man's obedience the many will be constituted righteous (made acceptable to God, brought into right standing with Him).

Obey! Obey! Obey!

How many times have we heard this preached at us? We are often told that we need to obey in order for God to be happy. Or we need to obey in order to be right with God. But that is a lie! The message of the Gospel is not about our obedience; the message of the Gospel is about Jesus’ obedience on our behalf.

We are made righteous because of Jesus, not because of how well we obey. We don’t obey God in order to be made righteous, we obey God because we are Righteous. Put another way, we don’t obey for acceptance, we obey from the Acceptance we already have in Christ.

Think about it, we did nothing to become sinners, we were born that way because of Adam. In the same way, we did nothing to become righteous, we’re reborn (made) that way because of Christ. Our identity is given to us apart from what we do. It is a gift. We are Righteous apart from our works.

Creativity in His Presence

He is the Creator. As sons and daughters of God, we have access to the creativity of the God who created the universe. It’s no wonder that, when we take time to just be with Him, He shares secrets with us in the secret place. His heart is to share with us ideas, inventions, poetry, pictures to paint, songs to sing. His heart is longing for a people who will take the time to give ourselves to Him to listen, feel, see, taste, and smell.  And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God (Romans 6:13).  This time with Him is so powerful and worth fighting for when life demands our time. 2021 YEAR OF DOMINION     There’s a phrase which I don’t like at all. Undoubtedly, you’ve heard it too, usually in drawn out, religious sounding tones when circumstances seem to fall short of what God has promised us in His Word. “Well...God is sovereign.” Of course, without question, God is sovereign. But what people are really saying behind that statement is, “You never know what God is going to do.” The problem with that view of sovereignty is it releases us of all responsibility. After all, if God is sovereign, He will do what He wants to anyway, so we might as well go watch television and forget about it, right? Wrong. According to Psalm 8:6 , God Himself put mankind in charge, gave us dominion, and put all things under our feet. He doesn’t intervene in the affairs of the Earth whenever He wants.
